Auskick Under Lights – Huge Night of Football

Booragoon JFC hosted the Mount Pleasant for a big night of Auskick football on Friday 10th of June.  There were six Auskick grid games running simultaneously under lights at Karoonda, with matches between Year 3s, Year 2s, Year 1s and Pre-Primary teams.  Almost 200 Auskick players took part, played the game in great spirit, and had a lot of fun.

There was some great football played by the kids, and some outstanding work by parents – coaching, running the canteen and bar, and generally helping out around the grounds and clubrooms.

The night was capped off by an high-quality game of Under 13s football – Booragoon V Bullcreek-Leeming.

2011 Season Underway

The 2011 Season is well under way and going well for the Booragoon Bulldogs.  Our Under 17s, 14s and 13s are undefeated after the first four rounds.  All teams are playing great football and doing the club and themselves proud.  Great work Bulldogs!

We have almost 120 kids in our Auskick program for 2011, which kicked off in style in brilliant sunshine on Mothers Day.  There is a huge amount of enthusiastic and skillful football on display each Sunday, it’s great to watch.

Friday Night Football

It was a huge night of football at Booragoon JFC, under lights at Karoonda on Friday 10th of June.  There were 200 Auskick players in a mini-carnival, with Booragoon hosting Mount Pleasant – six Auskick grid games running in parallel for pre-primary to Year 3s teams.

The Booragoon Under 13s then took on Bullcreek-Leeming in a top-of-the-table clash.  The Under 13s put on a great show of high quality football, but unfortunately Booragoon went down by 7 points, the U13s first loss for the year.

The whole night was a fantastic spectacle, a great example of excellent Junior Football.  Well done to all concerned, particularly the players.

Ex-Bulldog Griffin Debuts for Fremantle

Jonathan Griffin, originally from the Booragoon Bulldogs, played his first AFL game for his new club, the Fremantle Dockers, in Round 10 of the 2011 AFL season.  While Fremantle unfortunately lost to St Kilda on the day, Griffen convincingly won the ruck contest, finishing with 38 hitouts and 12 possessions.

Jonathan has played 42 AFL games to date, after being recruited by Adelaide from East Fremantle and making his AFL debut in 2007.
