BJFC Newsletter – February 2018

We are gearing up for the start of the season – Registrations signs have been going up and around the neighbourhood. Player registrations are coming in and Coaches are being assigned. Teams are taking shape…and Footy is well and truly back on TV! Woohoo!.

Register to Play

Player Registrations for Junior Football, Girls Football and Auskick are flowing in – thanks to those that have already registered for the 2018 Season.

To help with our preparations for the season, we’d like to get as many players as possible registered by the end of February.
We’re happy for you to register now and pay later if that is easier.
Go to https://www.booragoonbulldogs.com.au/join/ to Register.

🙂Online Registrations and payments are much easier for us to handle.

Open Day – 25th February

Our Open Day is on Sunday 25th of February between 10 am and 1 pm at Karoonda Reserve.
Drop on in and pay us a visit.
Whilst there you can:

  • Complete your registration and payments (if you haven’t done it online already)
  • Purchase Club shorts, socks and/or training shirts
  • Speak to Coaches and Club Officials to have any questions answered

2018 Coaches

The Club would like to welcome back and say a HUGE thank you to Heath Schmidt who serves as  your Club Coaching Co-ordinator.

Heath has locked in the majority of our Junior and Youth coaches for 2018.  This includes a number of new coaches to the Junior club, which is fantastic.

Our Head Coaches for the 2018 season will be published on the Club’s web site very soon (just waiting on the last couple of appointments)..
Thanks to all of these people for volunteering their time and expertise to coach our players for the 2018 season!

Sponsorship

Wouldn’t it be fantastic to see your Business name on our 2018 Club Polo’s.

A Sponsorship Package can enable the Club to purchase new football jumpers, footballs, and equipment for our players.
We are a growing Club. 2017 season was our seventh consecutive year of growth; 2018 is looking even better for player numbers with over 500 players across AFL Auskick, Junior and Youth Football, including the Grils 3-4’s, 5-6’s, 7-8’s and 9-10-11’s Teams.

Please contact me if you would like to know more about Sponsoring the Club.

Committee Updates

Farewell and our heartfelt THANK YOU to Marie Schmidt, who after more years than she cares to remember, is stepping aside from the Club Committee. Marie has served as the Club’s Secretary for the last few years and will be sorely missed. THANK YOU Marie for all of your service.

The Club would like to welcome the following Committee appointments:
Justin McMillan has taken on the Sponsorship role..

Sue Williams has taken on the role of Communications Officer and will also stand in as Club Secretary.

Committee Vacancies
Auskick Co-ordinator
Club Secretary

We are a Club run by volunteers and are always receptive to your assistance.

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers.

A list of all Club contacts can be found here.

School Sport WA – Interstate AFL Teams

Trails for the Boys Under 12, Boys Under 15 and Girls 15 all start soon. For more information please visit the School Sports WA web site.

Playing Up & Down Requests

Requests to “play down” or “play up” one year group are available.  This enables players to join teams to be with their school friends rather than be locked into their School Year.

If you would like to request a play-up or play-down, please contact our Registrar Renee Cailes or myself and we’ll help you through the process.

See you down at the Kennel.
Cheers,
Mark
