We are running a competition to introduce more players and families to Booragoon JFC Auskick.  If you have a new player register for AFL Auskick you both have a chance of winning your registrations fees back.

To enter:

• Make sure you are registered and paid-up yourself
• Get your friend to register for AFL Auskick online (i.e. they haven’t played Auskick at Booragoon JFC previously)
• Contact Meagan and Dean at auskick@booragoonbulldogs.com.au with the names of both players to get your entry in

You can enter a many times as you want – once for each friend you bring along.  The draw will be held in week 3 of the AFL Auskick season.

We will be holding our traditional Season Launch Sundowner on Sunday the 19th of April at Karoonda Park.

As this years Sundowner happens to be on the same day as the West Coast V Fremantle Western Derby, so we thought we’d double up. We’ll have the Western Derby on the big screen, the BBQ going for hot dogs, the Fairy Floss machine cranking, a couple of raffles, and the bar open. It all kicks off at 2:30pm, and wraps up just after the game is finished. All players receive a free hot dog and drink.

Clubs like ours are powered by volunteers. During the season there are close to 100 volunteers doing coaching, team management, first aid, operations and management every week, as well as every parent getting involved throughout the season. It can be considerable effort, but it is very rewarding when our players are out playing footy.

We are looking for people to get involved in following roles at a club or team level – get in touch to find out more:

• Canteen Coordinators
• Social Committee
• Line Marking (need a few people involved)
• Team Managers (for those teams that don’t have one yet)
• First Aid Officers (for each team)
• Desktop Publishing (with MS Publisher)
• Web Site Administrator & Social Media driver

The canteen is an integral part of our club and brings in much needed funds to support our players. We are trying hard to improve our club for all players and families. We would like your opinions and ideas on what the canteen offers, and how it is run, through a survey. We value everyone’s opinions and ideas and would appreciate your constructive feedback.

We have a lot to do with our co-tenant at Karoonda Park, the Brentwood Booragoon Football Club.  The BBFC Bulldogs have a thriving Veterans Masters group, with a number of our Junior Football parents part of the team.

The Vets are always looking for new talent, even ones that can play football.  If you enjoy a kick and a bit of a run on the field, and plenty of enjoyment off it, get involved with the BBFC Vets – they’re a great bunch of blokes.  A flyer for the BBFC Vets with all the details is available here.

All Junior Footballers should have a mouth guard at training and during games, whether than be a custom mouth guard, or an off-the-shelf type from a pharmacy.

Our long term supplier of mouth guards, Custom Mouthguards, will be at the Karoonda clubrooms on Thursday 19th March from 4:30pm to do custom mouthguard fittings.

Mouth guards are usually covered by Health Insurance, saving about 33% of the cost.
